SAP Solution Manager 7.2 – Focused Insight – installation, part 1/4

Focused Insights for SAP Solution Manager provides a set of prepackaged dashboards which leverage the SAP Solution Manager content. It is available without additional costs for SAP customers with a valid maintenance agreement as of 2020. Focused Insights is part of an ABAP stack add-on ST-OST which can be installed on top of SAP Solution Manager.

In the near future, I’ll write three articles about Focused Insight in SAP Solution Manager 7.2:

1. Installation Focused Insight (FI) – today.
2. Configuration FI – week 02 (2021).
3. Create Your first dashboard, e.g. Tactical Dasboards – week 03 (2021).
4. FI Tactical Dashboard – problem with some metrics – week 04 (2021)

Installation

First, You should check Your SAP Solution Manager version – this affects the Focused Insight, which You can use.

ST-OST 200 SP06

Before installing ST-OST 200 Focused Insights SP06, make sure that:

1. Your SAP Solution Manager 7.2 is SP11
2. You checked browsers pre-requisites: 1716423 – SAPUI5 Browser Support

ST-OST 200 SP05

Before installing ST-OST 200 Focused Insights SP05, make sure that:

1. Your SAP Solution Manager 7.2 is SP10
2. You checked browsers pre-requisites: 1716423 – SAPUI5 Browser Support

At the moment I use SM72 in SP10 version, so I’ll download FI in SP05 version. Installation steps:

1. Download the ST-OST 200 installation package from the following location: Software Downloads – Installations & Upgrades – By Category – SAP Technology Components – FOCUSED BUILD AND INSIGHTS – FOCUSED BUILD AND INSIGHTS 2.0 – INSTALLATION AND UPGRADE.
2. Download the ST-OST 200 update packages from the following location: Software Downloads – Support Packages and Patches – By Category – SAP Technology Components – FOCUSED BUILD AND INSIGHTS – FOCUSED BUILD AND INSIGHTS 2.0 – COMPRISED SOFTWARE COMPONENTS VERSIONS – ST-OST 200.
3. Install newest version SPAM/SAINT version.
4. Install/update the ST-OST add-on with SAINT or SPAM transaction.

After installation check You Focused Insight (FI) version – ST-OST 200 should be:

After implementing this note, execute the following steps for Support Package: ST-OST SP05:

1. Execute transaction SE38
2. Select report /STDF/NOTE_2959047 and execute it
3. Follow the instructions on the screen

Sometimes You can’t download above notes because note assistant show You:

You should at this moment:

1. Click on SE06 -> System Change Option
2. The One Service Tools Software Component and the Namespace/Name Range with a /STDF/ Prefix should be modifiable.

Then try again download notes.
