SPROXY error: “No connection to ESR”

When calling transaction SPROXY, we receive the following error “error has occurred during communication with ESR” – please look at the screen below.

Helpful note to solve the problem: 1759641

To eliminate the problem, check the RFC connection called “SAP_PROXY_ESR” in transaction SM59. You should check server and port in Tab: “Technical Settings“:

If necessary unlock the user account or set the user a new password on the SAP PO side appropriate for this configuration:
